November 27th 2009

Speechless. Totally. Friday night ended with extraordinary brilliancies. The wedding decor was beautifully done up according to our theme - with angel sculptures at the gallery pathway and crystal candle-light stands placed along the red carpet aisle, my stunning angels Danielle, Pearl and San did a wonderful job welcoming & registering the guests at the entrance, our little wishing tree was filled-up with loving wishes written by the guests, my bridesmaids looked exceptionally beautiful in their tailored-made dress, my angel dancer Dave masqueraded down the aisle showering lucky guests with little red hearts upon openning the great big door for our march-in, our band sang their hearts away earning praises after praises from the guests, our MC created a wonderful atmosphere especially with his rap in mandarin, my sexy Maid of Honour & Tim's best man each delivered a wonderful & entertaining speech about us, the birthday surprise for my F.I.L doubled up the happiness on the night of our wedding, Tim's thank you speech was touchingly delivered on stage and my dearie cousin Adrian sang a beautiful rendition of Michael Buble`s EVERTHING to which Tim & I danced our first dance as a wedded couple. All has gone to plan. I thank God. It was indeed the most unique, special and most memorable wedding for Tim and I and for our families.
...

Though the wedding dinner ended at 11.30pm, our party continued on for some of us at Pavilion Red Box with Tim & I still in our wedding gears. All eyes may be on us, but my eyes are only for Tim, my beloved, loving, charming husband. It takes 1 year to plan a beautiful wedding of a lifetime, but it takes a lifetime to prepare an everlasting marriage. We musn't forget this and indeed we shall not.

Baby, thank you for smiling at me through the glass window on 25th April. Who would have thought we would meet as life partner through a mirror reflection? I guess, anything is possible. You just never know...

Finally! It's TODAY!

Woke up at 8.30am feeling fresh and excited. Funny...that anxiety feeling that I had last night totally vanished from my emboldened heart. Few things to do before the dinner. Rehearsal at noon, checking-in at a hotel in the golden triangle area at 3pm, shower and ready to be dolled-up at 4pm, a random breathing exercise and then dinner at 7pm! I think I will hide myself in the dressing area next to the stage before the dinner starts. So if you dont see me, you know where to find me!

See you all later! AND thank you for coming... :D I'm pumped!!

Count Down: 1 more day to go!!

Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I love ya! Tomorrow! Just did my 2 hours manicure & padicure today. Totally worth it with the bling bling at the tip of my nails, and I can't stop looking at it.

Am I feeling sleepy yet? Are my eyes droopy yet? Will everything be all right tomorrow? Can I not have this anxiety feeling right now? Will everything that has been planned for the past 1 year turn out great as it should be tomorrow? Can I just go to bed and shut up? I have this excitement cum nervy strike at the pit of my stomach and I wonder how I would be at 7pm on 27/11/09? Will I be blushing as I walk down the aisle clinging the arm of my love one? Too many questions in my head. No wonder my brain is not shutting down.

My Ebel watch has run out off batt...The clock has stopped ticking...its true. Its like a sign. A sign to tell me to love this day, this moment, this second before tomorrow as tomorrow will be a brand new beginning for my family and my new found family.  It will be a celebration of love and happiness and a new family inclusion for the Ng and the Wongs as it is the Ng's first and only male heir marriage whilst, for the Wong's second and final one...

Bachelor Night...A Surprise: PART 2

I woke up with a jolt upon hearing the ringing of my cellphone. Through my blurry vision, I saw the caller ID bearing the face of my husband kissing my cheek through my cellphone screen:

Me: Helogg?
Tim: Baby...i'm coming home now....!
Me: Ohhh wah tie ishyit nowh?
Tim: Its 2.30am, the boyz wanted me to stay at the hotel, but I dont want...i want to come home to you...
Me: Mmm...okay....
Tim: got STRIPPER u know! She rubbed her breast to my face..!
Me: Okay goodrighhh..
Tim: See you soonnn...love you baby!
Me: Huh? Breast??
-phone dead-

So, Tim got back and when he got into the room, he was wearing a golden crown on his head. He told me excitedly about his party night and what was prepared for him. Of course the highlight was the exotic dancer from Philippines. So, she aint a she-male after all... Of course through the little conversation and my half-awake-half-asleep mode, I got to know he kept his hand and his **** to himself. That'd do for me.

Oh well, guess he did have the time of his life. He better enjoyed it as there won't be a second time around! Not unless if I am the 'dancer' myself ....   :-)

Bachelor Night...A Surprise

And my baby is having his bachelor night out ...now. Miss him terribly.

Since he won't be able to read my blog at this moment, I can share with you what's in store for him! APPARENTLY, his "heng dai" ('brothers') planned a surprise for him and that surprise includes a S.T.R.I.P.P.E.R!!! (I wonder if that is true)....but since I DID get a male stripper for my own hens night, I wouldn't be surprise if they planned the same for him!

They are all currently boozing the night away at some 5 star hotel (I gave a little warning to him & his heng dais to behave themselves infront of Ms. Fanny or whatever her name is..or is it a she-male?) ...I wonder if my warning would ever reached their ears... ahh well, since it is Tim's bachelor night, I guess, the rules should be let loose a little..just a little....tiny little....tinyyy weeeeny litttleeeee.....

No cameras, no women, no WIFE is allowed ...wherever they are...

I guess I shall just wait by the side of my phone, just in case if this husband of mine needs me to save him from his wolfy brothers or that she-male...

Count Down: 2 days....

The clock is ticking...and ticking real loudly.

I had a sudden nervous breakdown last night and thanks to my wedding planner Jeff, he gave me a call to calm my nerves out. "3 more days and we will make it really memorable for you & Tim", he said. Tim on the other hand, got really excited and did a fashion show on his new suits & his new fashionista tie for the wedding for me parents downstairs.

My in-laws are in town until this Sunday. Soon, Tim's relatives from Thailand, Singapore, Australia will be down for the wedding too. Everyone is looking forward to this day Friday. And we will do our best to please all the guests on that night. Great food, great live music, great programme.

Lets rock it!

23 November 2009

And you thought you had it bad...

Its amazing how when you set your mind on something, you get things done. Period. Today, was one of those days where I'd give myself a big pat on the back...oh so it seems...

I'm already on my wedding leave (if there is such thing like one) and I had accomplished the tasks that I set to do today. Apart from going back to the office in the morning in my shorts and ManUtd jersey (yeah..call me a workaholic) to check my emails, I visited the Banquet place right after for a final evaluation - light testing, projector testing, system testing..etc to ensure my plans for the big night are all in order.

I then proceeded to treat my ugly, limp hair for some colour and treatment.

Then, after a satisfying make-over and when I thought all is going according to plan,...I got to my car and realized that I had a flat tyre!

Stucked in the basement, stuffy as ever, I attempted to change the squashed-to-the-ground tyre on my own. Of course, it lasted only a minute. The spare tyre felt like it was bolted to the car or something & considering the fact that I have my long nails to care for (too much being a ladylike), I decided to hail some nice looking chap for help. And indeed one came to the rescue. A middle-aged man came to help but .. instead of helping me, it turned out that I was the one who had to show him how to do it! But anyhow, it was his kindness that I still had to thank for.

Later, came the security guard. I told the kind man that I had it all covered. So he left (embarrased). Then came another guard. 2 men now assisting. Still the tyre was as stubborn as ever. 20 minutes later my father came to the rescue. When you are in trouble, you can always count on your daddy! True enough, the tyre was replaced after 15minutes.

Thought I've past the test. But when I got into the car.... my petrol indicator light came out....

The Custom Day

21st November 2009 - This was the date given by the fengshui lady for our family in which it is called "ko tai lei" in chinese. Traditionally, on this date, the groom's family is supposed to send the wedding gifts to the bride's family and on this date as well, our "wedding bedroom" is being done up, and on this date, red cloth will be hung up on the main door. However, as my in-laws are from Brunei, we do it the modern way!

Lets start with my family first.

My parents woke up at 6am, went to the market to shop for pork meat, fishes, prawns...etc. (I was still sleeping soundly at this time). 9.30am, I helped my parents to prepare for ancestor prayer (note: though I am a Christian, I do still follow the traditional customs as a respect for my family), hang up the red cloth on our main door, laying down dishes on the table, chasing after flies...

My mom & dad in Brunei.

Laying our "wedding bed" with new bed linen, sheets and comforter, putting up little red papers that has the "prosperous word" on it, putting up a tray of rice, tea cups, ...etc on the bed, preparing new hankies and towels, putting lamps around the bedroom...

At the same time, talking to the in-laws in KL (my parents) to see if all is in order. Both side busy preparing the wedding at their respective countries and liaising via skype and cellphone! How cool is that?

Back to KL.

My family and I went through the dinner list one more time. We arranged the guests sitting, making final confirmation with the guests, typing out the table numbers, negotiating on who get the front tables...in the end, the front goes to my relatives. Hmm, why do "youngsters" always become the backbenchers?  Guess its because they are always the noisy bunch?! : p

Ahhh.... finally I get to relax now. I still have got my OWN bedroom to clean up. But I think I'll push that task a little later on. Today, I'm treating my bridesmaids for a relaxing facial spa at Leonard Drake. Time to work on the face, neck & shoulder people!

The customary lamp to be placed around our "wedding bedroom"
So cute! It runs on battery!

Last Minute Delivery!

Wedding Cards.. wedding cards... wedding cards... Time really waits for no one. The wedding is sooo close to date now and the cards were only delivered yesterday! Thanks to my F.I.L connection with TNT, we managed to get TNT dispatch boy to come and collect the box of cards from my office for it to be delivered straight to Brunei. As for KL, I take this opportunity to thank my good friend (specially in my blog) Roumayne for her kindness in helping me to distribute the cards on my behalf to my high school girl friends this weekend.

Time is running out .. and I am feeling pretty stressed-up with all last minute preparation. The only thing left to do is the seating arrangement. That's one major headache!

Hope all well begins well.. A new beginning.. A new start to life as one Mrs Ng!

Freak Winter Storm in KL?

Dear Friends,

I don’t intend to cause alarm but I think I need to share this with everyone. Rumours are surfacing about a freak winter storm that is expected to hit the Kuala Lumpur city centre on Friday, 20 November 2009 at around 7pm.

Being near the equator, KL has never experienced such a cold weather phenomenon and residents used to the hot and humid weather are warned to take serious precautions.
Reliable sources think that there are reasons to believe these rumours following some unusual weather-related events that many parts of the world have experienced in recent history.

Those who have never experienced extreme cold weather are advised to stick close to one another for support. I suggest reading this article on How to Survive Being Stranded in Snow and other similar ones you can find easily on the internet.

As I personally know some of these sources, I will send out further notices as we get closer to the anticipated event. Remember, mark 20 November 2009 in your diaries. In such an occurrence, there is safety in numbers so stay close to one another, especially after office hours!

Stay tuned.

This was the email that has been widely circulated. Did you get it? Anyway, the Star today has reported that the Malaysian Meteorological Department has rubbished such claim....

November 20th.. freak winter storm at 7pm huh? Yeah right. Snow in Malaysia? LOL! I wish!
Lets just wait and see...

Bridesmaids

Bridesmaids are considered the bride's most important gal pal(s). They laugh with you, stay with you, cry with you (and most in my case - drink with you). They know your most inner darkest secret that, not even your hubby, should know about! They'd get all excited when you tell them "I met someone"... They'd scream when you tell them "I am getting married!". Sometimes you wonder does real friends exist? I learnt, you'd know who are your real friends as when in times of need, your real friends would be there to support you, would be there to hear you, not just to say YES in everything you say, but get into the excitement of what you are about to say...no matter how crazy it sounds.

In those months during my Bridezilla moments, my bridesmaids relentlessly planned for all till leading to the day I say "I Do". I thanked them so much for all they have done for me.

In return for their sincerity, I (miss loyal), dedicate this entry to Lorraine, Gin, Fung and Vivian for their love and support throughout our years of friendship.

The girls (except Vivian aka Mrs Bay - wish you could come to my wedding!) have just seen their bridesmaid dress that have been specially tailored made for them ...according to their own design and taste. Its absolutely beautiful...with champagne satin material and bronze ribbon surrounding it (sorry no pictures of the gown here, but your can see them at the wedding!). A special facial spa has been arranged to pamper these beautiful ladies (and of course for myself and Tim) as well.

Girls, all these are specially arranged for you, as a token of appreciation for your sincerity, your support and friendship that you have shown me, especially from the day Tim asked for my hand in marriage to the day where I will be walking the path of my new blessed life with him. I thank you. From the bottom of my heart.

Congratulations Sue & Ron!

Such a wonderful hectic weekend I had. Wonderful because my Dad (daddy-in-law) is in town and my dearie cousin Sue Ann registered her marriage with her hubby Ron in a beautifully decorated garden at Carcosa Seri Negara (photos to be uploaded soon - as soon as I have it).

Sue was dressed in a beautiful white Keith Kee gown and she smiled radiantly as I walked in to greet her. My aunt (Mai 3) looked so young and gorgeous in her pink tube dress, whilst her husband (my uncle) looked dashingly handsome in his black suit.

All looked well prepared, with the choir practicing under the blazing hot sun, awaiting for DE moment to arrive.

9.50am, Annie gave the cue for me to get the violinist ready and off I went searching for someone who "looks" like a violinist (??) and I got lucky! In one of the room I searched, 5 unknown strangers were sitting and chit chatting in the dark, and so I asked, " Are you the violinist?" My eyes were looking from left to right...and one young looking gal on my right stood up and said "Yes?" "All right!.....lets go. She's coming down now!" I replied excitedly.

10am, Sue walked down the stairs in her father's arm, smiling sheepishly. I just can't take my eyes off her. She looked so beautiful (behind the veil)...
The violinist continued playing the melody, whilst Sue, her father and her 4 bridesmaids walked rythymically at the aisle and soon, Sue joined Ron at the front of the bridal arch to say "Yes, I DO!" (actual words used: Do you Ronnie Lim, take Ms Lim Sue Ann to be your lawfully wedded wife, to care for her, to love her... Ron: "Yes I will!"... Ms Lim Sue Ann, do you take Ronnie Lim...... Sue: "Yes I CERTAINLY WILL!")

They both sealed their pledge with a kiss. We applauded, smiling to our hearts content. They then proceeded to sign their "blue certificate" infront of the official Registrar who's voice was so loud that it probably scared the birds away. Its all well and good now. Sue and Ron are officially legally married as of November 7th, 2009. We now await for them to create the next 'Lim' generation...

Congratulations Sue and Ron! May your marriage be blessed and filled with joy and love.

Busy Missy

Okayyyy so I've not been posting much. Its all because I've been extremely ridiculously busy. Having already attended 3 weddings in a ROW and one more this coming Saturday, I am definitely deprived of sleep. However, apart from my rants here, I am certainly looking forward to this Saturday as my dearie cousy Sue Ann will be registering her marriage with my soon-to-be cousin-in-law Ronnie Lim at Carcosa Seri Negara!
Congratulations to the both of you in advance and thanks for selecting me as your bridesmaid (or Maiden of Honour whichever deem fit lah). I am truly honored!

So far, I've been slotting every minute of my weekends to do what I term it as "Wedding Preps". Tim & I even created our very own E-VITE (thanks Raj for giving us this name haha!). Its actually an e-invitation card to be sent to our friends. Technologies these days are so good that it will replace those traditional wedding cards soon!

For those whom are still waiting for your invitation cards, don't worry. Its coming to your way soon!
