A.I Result Episode Top 24 Week 1

All right, I've been giving feedbacks on American Idol via my twitter page and I thought I could blog something about the Result Episode last week right here in this blog for the benefit of my readers here.

Last week's result episode showed 4 contestants being voted out by the public (2 boyz 2 girls):-
Janell Wheeler
Ashley Rodriguez
Joe Munoz
Tyler Grady

Whilst these 4 contestants (I meant ex-contestant) were given a reality-check that they have the lowest number of votes, only one contestant reacted bitterly...

From my television set at home, I was taken aback with Ms.Rodriguez reply and facial expression when Ryan asked her of her feelings... no doubt she can sing, but every contestants are really good in singing too! She should have taken the defeat gracefully and at least give a more proper and genuine thank you speech...

Guess she reaaallllyy never thought she would be the second person to be eliminated.
(but then again, this is just my humble opinion)...

Good luck to her and the rest of the 3 contestants. They should be proud of themselves for getting this far in the Idol stage. And for Janell Wheeler, I like her! She seems sweet and she looks good on camera! Hope she'll get booked from film directors/ producers in the American entertainment industry...

A.I - Top 24 Episode Recap (Week 1)

American Idol this week features the final 24 contestants singing their hearts out to land a spot in the final 12! As I type, I'm watching a rerun of yesterday's episode where Todrick Hall just came on stage and received some mix criticism on his song choice of "Since You've Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson.

Here's what I got to say about his performance:-

Song Choice: Smart choice (turning the song into his own song)

Creativity: Practically changed the original song into another original song - as it sounded completely different! Like what Simon said, it practically murdered the original song.

Rating: 6 out of 10. I have to give credit to his vision, his creativity as in the Idol stage, it is not easy to do what he did.

Singing capability: Pretty good. I like his tone of voice

Prediction: We will see more of him as I an idol fan myself, I want to see what else he can come out with every week! If he succeed, he will go far - a singer, dancer and a composer!

TOP 24 : GIRLS VS BOYZ
The Boyz wins this first round
Girls 0   Boyz 1

Uncle 'K', Jaya One

Isn't it a daily question that sometimes frustrates you as you constantly (everyday) ask yourself or colleagues as to what to eat for lunch?

Finally, came one pretty good restaurant that serves practically everything under the malaysian-western food category.

Uncle 'K' Kopitiam, opens its restaurant in Jaya One early this week (or was it last week?) and I must say, the food is pretty good. They serve from mamak stall food, to chinese, to indian and even to westerns!

I tried the following food:
Nasi Goreng Kambing (awesome!)
Maggie Goreng - no sayur (brilliant!)
Mee Goreng - telur dan ayam (yumm!)

And the price??

One part of the interior

Big fat menu!

Ice lemon tea and Milo ice served like this! Wow!

Another part of the interior

My favourite! Maggie Goreng
(special request: without veggie haha)

Well, ...bit pricey for mamak kind of food, but its worth it :)

Boarding Time

Goodbye Brunei....

Here I am, sitting at Coffee Bean waiting for the time to strike 6.40pm (boarding time). 1 week in Brunei is never enough, Tim & I are getting used to this place now, and I for one, definitely love this place. Some may say its boring, but to me, its relaxing. Its safe. Its tax FREE.

Once we return, the busy life starts again. Renovation for our new home at Andalucia, Pantai will start in March. Tentatively we should be able to move in sometime in June/ July. Honeymoon? Well, I'm hoping to land tickets to watch M.U game against Chelsea, that would be an ultimate honemoon trip! If not, it would probably be end of this year after we settled in the new house for sure!

Ok...its boarding time. Time to return to good ol KL.

See you guys in KL, I'm looking forward to a good reunion with my mates Ben and gang this weekend!

Bon Voyage!

Looks pretty busy...comparing to 2 months ago (end of Dec)...

Vote for Cindy with Mix FM

Lets move away from the horrible day and talk about something more exciting shall we?

I remembered those were the days where I would stay by the radio, with my phone next to me (3 phones by the way with 3 different lines) and I would tell my family members not to disturb me, talk to me, call me or see what I was doing. Well, what exactly was I doing then? I was addicted. Addicted in calling in radio stations. Addicted to talking to radio deejays. Addicted to whatever the radio stations offered to its listeners. I was that crazy. Young and crazy. I remembered wanting to be a radio deejay then. But I got brain-washed to take up law instead. Well, that was 12 years ago. Who would have thought, I would be back calling in the radio station again? Doing what I love best? :)

Every now and then I would tune in to my favourite radio stations and check out their websites to see what's the latest juicy news. To my wildest excitement, recently, there is a contest to win an all-expenses paid trip to watch Manchester United vs Chelsea in the could-be title deciding match! (check out www.mix.fm) One part of me told me to ignore it, another part of me told me to just go for it. Of course, I chose the latter part of me.

It certainly paid off as couple of days later Mix FM called me and I was chosen to do a stunt with the team and would be in the running to win THE trip of my life! You can never ever ever imagine how I felt at that time. I was ecstatic! Absolutely crazily ecstatic! Me? In the running to win a trip to MANCHESTER???!!
My life-long-before-I-die-kinda dream??? OMG!!

Well, of course I have not won anything yet. My stunt will be shown in their website (http://www.mix.fm/) this Friday 12/02/10 and the contestants with the most votes will win the trip. I havent exactly told anyone about this yet except some of my close ones. Now I know how exactly those American Idol contestants felt...wishing for lots of votes from people they know and dont know, hoping that at the end of the day, he or she would be crowned as the WINNER.

That is exactly how I feel at this moment. This is my dream. My dream to watch a real live match. Not just any match. But a match of my favourite football team. Manchester United.

Vote for me. That's all I asked for. Please. Vote. For. Me.

I'm all smile...after the stunt. Want to know how good a striker I am?

Nightmare at Section 17

I never knew it would happen to me. Never. Thought I was careful enough. But I guess I was not.

Time: 9.00am
Location: Shell Station, Section 17 (near Jln Universiti)

I was driving towards my office when the light kept blinking. I thought to myself, I'd better fill up the petrol now instead of waiting till after work. I went straight to the nearest petrol kiosk. It was full. But I found one empty spot in the middle.

As usual, like any normal routine, I came out with my wallet, took out my credit card, put it in the machine. When the machine indicated "APPROVED" I began filling up the car. As I was filling up (I was still holding on to my wallet on my left hand - standing right next to my car at the side of the rear) my eyes darted towards the running meter. I looked at my watch. 9.00am. Damn! I'm going to be late for work! As my eyes continue to look at the meter with my right hand pressing in harder on the trigger, I felt a jerk on my left hand. WTF?!

I held on harder to my wallet as I looked to my left. A man with a helmet came REALLY CLOSE TO MY FACE ON HIS MOTORBIKE pulled harder and snatched my wallet away from me! I shouted on top of my lungs (I always wondered how my actual yell for help would sound like, now I know. Sounds like a mad woman) and my instant reaction was, I pulled out the petrol pump (thinking it was a gun), and started pointing towards the man. I wanted to spray the petrol all over him (if I could think further, I could have used a lighter and light him up!). But in that spur of the moment, I was merely pointing the petrol pump in his direction, my fingers were numbed. I did not press the trigger. No petrol came out.

I was so pissed off. Good samaritans came to my aid. There were alot of witnesses who witnessed the incident. But no one saw the number plate. Calls were made to banks to cancel my credit cards. 2 good samaritans came to ask if I was all right and offerred to help me call the banks to cancel my cards. But like any other good banks, calls were made but the customer service officers of these banks were busy. No one picked up after a whole damn 5 minutes!

It was a terrible day. My beloved wallet is gone. 6 plastic cards gone. My first souvenir from my FIL, a BND cum SGD 20 note (2 in 1 dollar note) is gone. As a consolation, I only had RM13 in my wallet. Served that damn thieve right! Another consolation, I still got my IC and driving license with me.

I was trembling, traumatised after what had happenned. But after making the police report, I felt better. I am much better now. I want to skin that man alive now. However, that particular moment when the man came close to me and snatched the wallet away from me, that moment itself, was a moment of darkness that would be lingering at the back of my mind from now on.

Be careful. This country is not as safe as it used to be...anymore.
