Legally Married!

Finally! 28th September 2009 Tim and I sealed our status on the paper. I am now a MRS! Well, legally that is. Its so surreal to be in this position...having a husband and a new family. We registered in Putrajaya last Monday witnessed by friends and family. It's a wonderful & blissful moment for us and both our families when we tied the knot legally.

Well, the legal side of it has been completed. The next date to look forward to is Dec 13th where we will have the official wedding ceremony (following the Chinese tradition, the tea ceremony marks the official binding of both family of 2 become 1) in Brunei.

Will post the pictures on our registration soon in this blog once I get hold of my camera cable.

Special thanks to all my friends (& cousin Sue Ann) whom have called and sms us sweet congratulatory messages and also to those who took their time off from work to attend our registration. Love ya'll!!

Tribute to the King

Yeah I know...I know...its already been more than 2 months since the King of Pop breathed his last (imagining him waving his diamond studded glove as he wave goodbye and murmur his "I love You" to us fans...sob! sob!).

Why am I featuring MJ in my blog today is because only last night Tim and I went karaoke on our own (to compensate all those long working hours throughout the week for some good quality time together)... I was crooning away practicing some "new" songs (apart from those I usually pick) whilst Tim, as usual, was busy preparing his meeting agendas and some work planning for next week in the dark dim room (talk about being a workaholic!) After a good 3 hours of singing, we decided to sit back and relax, hence we selected some MJ's MTV videos... From happy crazy laughing mood, our mood instantly descended to a somber emotion as Tim wrapped his arm around me whilst I laid my head on his chest, listening and watching ...if only MJ made it for his 'This is It' tour...

I remembered meeting MJ in 1996 at Concorde Hotel when he came to KL for his History World Tour concert performance. I was so sad then as that year was when I had to sit for my PMR examination, thus I was not allowed to go for his concert! But luck was on my side, I got to meet him up-close at the hotel as my dad's Lions Club had a function then on that day. Therefore, we were given special priviledge to enter the premise of where MJ was residing! Lucky me :D

Life is short. So precious. So with a purpose. Michael Jackson, you are truly a legend and there will never be another King of Pop (not even if Kanye West declares himself as one). You will be loved by many and remembered for decades or even in the next century. We miss you! Always will... R.I.P...

Special Feature - Chun Seong, Ng

When you watch a movie, we normally give credits to the actors, the directing skills, the producers....etc. How about the special effects team?

In this blog, a special mention to Chun Seong, Ng (aka Ah Dee) who is the brother of my very good friend Adeline, whom has made an impact in the Hollywood industry (that's right! H.O.L.L.Y.W.O.O.D!)...not as an actor, but even more important than the actor themselves (I would say) as he is, I quote, a CG Moduler - i.e. he is involved in projects creating visual effects for the movies we see in the cinema! I do admit, I am no brainer in 3D effects-vocabularies but without the special effects team, a movie would never be a grade A movie without `em, dont you agree?

Amongst the list of actors that he worked with includes, Brad Pitt (oh my gosh!), Keanu Reeves (!!!) and Edward Norton (how lucky!!!)...

Here are some Ah Dee's filmography credentials in the Hollywood industry:-

a) X-Men Origins, Wolverine (2009)
b) Curious Case of Benjamin Button (Dec 25, 2008)
c) The Day the Earth Stood Still (Dec 12, 2008)
d) The Incredible Hulk (Jun 13, 2008)

Congratulations Ah Dee! Keep up the good work! Your sister is VERY VERY incredibly proud of you! (am sure your whole family too!)
Picture above taken from Facebook profile (sorry Ah Dee, hope you dont mind!) :D

Book Review - Twilight & Harry Potter

Well, I'm taking the opportunity to be a little bit more active in blogging since I have 5 days holiday in a row (Selamat Hari Raya to all my Muslim readers!). Everyone has their own hobby - be it shopping, fishing, karaoke-ing, or even clubbing. Yours truly here for one, besides blogging, loves to read (oh yes totally!).. I have just finished the whole 4 series of Twilight - right after finishing the whole 7 series of Harry Potter (I have read HP over and over and over again...if I remember correctly, I have read the final chapter of HP over 3 times already!)

So here's my review for these 2 books (not that I'm reviewing in a professional way...just as a lay person's personal point of view):-

Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse & Breaking Dawn:

Not too bad. The story line for each series escalades intriguingly and makes you want to read more and not wanting to put it down. However, despite the fact that your heart may palpitate with excitement (wondering how it would end for each series), there are some (or many) occasions where the story line gets too draggy....and the final chapter ended less dramatically than I would have hoped for.

Harry Potter - Sorcerer Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prizoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire, Order of Phoenix, Half Blood Prince, Deathly Hallows

Excellent writing & imaginary skills. Every single series relates to one another (there are 7 in total by the way so you can imagine how skillful this JK Rowling is to have such an amazing imagination). You can tell how the writer relates from the 1st chapter to the final chapter...every single information from Chapter 1 onwards fits perfectly well at the end of the final chapter (you would have the 'ohhhh-i-seee' kinda mannerism as you read along). Harry Potter is definitely a fantastic book to read for all ages. Great charaters, great plots, written with strong narrative style, funny and with unexpected twists.

THE MOVIE:

Although I may prefer the Harry Potter books over Twilight(s), the movies are completely opposite to my preference. Twilight movie is wayyyyy much better than Harry Potter (acting wise and directing wise). The Harry Potter movies are not doing justice to the greatness of Harry Potter books series... I guess, you can't have goodness of both worlds can you? :) Well, lets just wait for the long awaited Twilight - New Moon movie to be released in November this year and for Harry Potter's The Deathly Hallows (to be out in 2 parts) sometime in 2010...

From left: Hermione Granger (Emma Watson),
Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) & Ronald Weasley (Rupert Grint)

Edward Cullen & Bella Swan (beautiful casts)
p/s - Do you know that Edward Cullen (aka Robert Pattinson) acted in Harry Potter's Goblet of Fire? He played the role of Cedric Diggory whom died in the hands of You-Know-Who (haha)...

Crazy Derby Match!

20th September 2009 - The most exciting derby match awaited all of us football fanatics! I for one, as all my mates know, a crazy fan of MANCHESTER UNITED! (Yeah ... stop rolling your eyes will ya?)

Last night, my Pa, Tim and myself were glued to our plasma tv, without moving much of our limbs as we watched intriguingly at how Man Utd outclassed Man City. If it was not for the silly careless errors made by the United defenders (R.Ferdinand specifically) and the wanted-to-be-number-one goal-keeper Ben Foster, United would have won the match EASILY. But that's what made this thrilling derby match all about isn't it?

Papa and I were rooting for our dear United to win whilst Tim on the other hand wanted (so badly) for City to thrash United (so much for being my fiance whom, deliberately, always on my opposing side at whatever I favour)! But of course luck and class were on our side (haha!) and United won 4-3 in this classic derby encounter! Of all people whom scored the winning goal, it was Michael Owen at the very VERY last second before the final whistle...

P/s - If you don't know who Michael Owen is - he used to play for Liverpool (United's archenemy)...so, for him to score the winning goal FOR United is extraordinarily ironic..

Here is the final goal that sealed the win for the Red Devils... :D

Sorry for the non-english commentary... can't locate one that is in English yet :P

Night Out

We are crazy. We are IRRESISTIBLY insane.

Gin, Fung (aka cipet), Vivian (aka ah low), Lorraine (aka yoyee) and myself are self-proclaimed SGs. How the SG nickname came about is for us to know and for the others to wonder as it revolves our darkest secret, hidden beyond human understanding ... so anyway, when it comes to parties, there is only ONE rule. We must DRINK, get seductively crazy, get insane and LOUD.. (that makes more than 1 rule doesn't it??)

Anyway, last Saturday, we celebrated Gin's XX birthday (age is such a sensitive number) at Jung Won, a korean restaurant situated at Jln Ampang. Amongst all the restaurants that I have stepped foot in, I must admit, Jung Won is absolutely B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L! The food is on the other hand just ok, not as good as the other korean restaurants that we frequented in Sri Hartamas. However, despite the lavish landscape the price is about the same as any other local korean chophouse. I would give a 7/10 for this place (mostly earned from its alluring landscape)...

Wheel of water (this is the main part of the landscape)

Fung & yours truly..we can't resist a little cam whoring whilst waiting for our food

We were deciding at what to order...in the end we ordered EVERYTHING!

Vivian listened intently at whatever Yee was saying

Dinner ended around 9 ish close to 10pm, we then head on to the next location to begin our trademark "bottomsup" session (every glass we hold on to, must be drained ALLLL the way to the bottom). We were invited to a humongous mansion belonged to one of our dear SG's boyfriend - Matt in Kajang. The house is soooo huge and the garden is sooo big that we can even play a small footsal match or roll all over the grass for some intimate bollywood scene (Gin..lucky you.. if you know what we mean)...

These made us T.H.I.R.S.T.Y!!

We posed in the middle of the heart-shaped candle display
(originally placed by Matt himself for Gin on her actual birthday
Sept 16 `09)!

Happy Birthday Gin! A wonderful night ends with a wonderful smile :D

September Baby

Last night we had an awesome birthday celebration for Tim. Instead of the usual candle-light one-on-one dinner together (that is sooo last year), we invited a couple of his mates from Australia (Adam & Jeremy) to hang out with us in Bangsar. We had some booze (me so not into beer as usual, opt for my usual glass of house white) and we played a few friendly double pool matches. Guess who were the winners? Adam Bailey + Cindy Wong! Whoo hooo! Awesome partnership the both of us made! Tim and Jeremy looked at us scornfully after their defeat :D
Of course every birthday there must be a traditional birthday cake to commemorate the occasion right? I "surprised" Tim with a Baskin Robbin delicious Choc-Mint chip (his favourite) ice cream cake (p/s - Tim and I bought the cake together so its not realllly a surprise-lah) but still...it's the thought that counts right? :x

The inside of the cake looks like this...taste even better too!

The night ended with the four of us half tipsy...but still controllable. Oh well, we'd drink all night long had it not been a working day tomorrow....

Happy Birthday darling...I love you!

Baby Names

Tim told me this morning he had a wonderful dream. In that dream I gave birth to a baby girl and I showed him our "daughter" picture through the handphone (?? its a dream remember?)...now why wasn't he in the labour room with me??!

Baby girl hmm... now and then we both would come out with baby names like for girls I like the name Abrielle Swan, Tim likes Mia, Gabriella.. whilst for baby boys name we both like Ethan. Its fun thinking of baby names whilst being stuck on the road during peak hour! Try it ;) Keeps your mind fresh and alert without having to think of the next available f*** word towards the traffic!

Note: I am not preggers YET. Do not be extra-sensitive when you read this post :D

Panic Attack

We hear many a times where right before you are about to be legally and matrimonially bonded, panic strikes right? Hmm... I am feeling just that right now.

I will be Mrs Ng (legally on paper) in more than a weeks time...I'm nervous and excited ... I am having irregular heart beat the more I think of it!

Prawn-ing

I wonder why only men love fishing... it proves me right again when we went to a Prawning pond where ALL of these prawners were MEN. I was the only female prawner present! Well, if it is not for Tim who bugged me to come prawning with him, I wouldnt have given a second thought to come to this place....and come to think of it I'm glad that I did!

For RM15 per rod, u can prawn any amount for 1 good hour!

It was a fantastic and jakun-ish experience as we both do not have any fishing, let-alone prawning experience! After a good 1 hour plus, we manage to catch these! All worth 300g in total! Cool..!

Note: Tim and I had 2 each. One caught on the rod, another caught with our 'bare hands' - the prawns were swimming visibly in front of us, though we shouldn't, we couldn't help ourself thus we decided to cheat when the storekeeper wasn't looking! So we caught them with our hands! So why use rod when we have hands?? RIGHT?? :D

The rest, were gifts by another prawner who pitied us....
