Book Review - Twilight & Harry Potter

Well, I'm taking the opportunity to be a little bit more active in blogging since I have 5 days holiday in a row (Selamat Hari Raya to all my Muslim readers!). Everyone has their own hobby - be it shopping, fishing, karaoke-ing, or even clubbing. Yours truly here for one, besides blogging, loves to read (oh yes totally!).. I have just finished the whole 4 series of Twilight - right after finishing the whole 7 series of Harry Potter (I have read HP over and over and over again...if I remember correctly, I have read the final chapter of HP over 3 times already!)

So here's my review for these 2 books (not that I'm reviewing in a professional way...just as a lay person's personal point of view):-

Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse & Breaking Dawn:

Not too bad. The story line for each series escalades intriguingly and makes you want to read more and not wanting to put it down. However, despite the fact that your heart may palpitate with excitement (wondering how it would end for each series), there are some (or many) occasions where the story line gets too draggy....and the final chapter ended less dramatically than I would have hoped for.

Harry Potter - Sorcerer Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prizoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire, Order of Phoenix, Half Blood Prince, Deathly Hallows

Excellent writing & imaginary skills. Every single series relates to one another (there are 7 in total by the way so you can imagine how skillful this JK Rowling is to have such an amazing imagination). You can tell how the writer relates from the 1st chapter to the final chapter...every single information from Chapter 1 onwards fits perfectly well at the end of the final chapter (you would have the 'ohhhh-i-seee' kinda mannerism as you read along). Harry Potter is definitely a fantastic book to read for all ages. Great charaters, great plots, written with strong narrative style, funny and with unexpected twists.

THE MOVIE:

Although I may prefer the Harry Potter books over Twilight(s), the movies are completely opposite to my preference. Twilight movie is wayyyyy much better than Harry Potter (acting wise and directing wise). The Harry Potter movies are not doing justice to the greatness of Harry Potter books series... I guess, you can't have goodness of both worlds can you? :) Well, lets just wait for the long awaited Twilight - New Moon movie to be released in November this year and for Harry Potter's The Deathly Hallows (to be out in 2 parts) sometime in 2010...

Edward Cullen & Bella Swan (beautiful casts)
p/s - Do you know that Edward Cullen (aka Robert Pattinson) acted in Harry Potter's Goblet of Fire? He played the role of Cedric Diggory whom died in the hands of You-Know-Who (haha)...
