30 is the New 20!

In continuation of my earlier post, as I am celebrating (still am!) my third decade of life, firstly, I thank God for the years and the life that he has bestowed upon me. We all should be thankful for making through year after year of our birthdays as life journey can be unpredicatable. We just got to brave ourselves for the tide that may come once in a while and live appreciatively for the things that God has blessed us with.

I woke up this morning at 8am in a daze. I wanted to continue my precious sleep (as I got home at 2am!) but how could I resist the temptation of kissing my 2 sweethearts when hubby brought our son into my arms and gave me a sweet birthday kiss (Hayden kissed me too! Though kinda sloppy but I love it)!

Hubby and I made our way to the Gardens for a movie marathon in the afternoon. Pirates of the Caribbean and Priest. We ended up watching POTC only and ditched Priest as we wanted to go home to spend some time with our son before heading to our twosome candle-lit dinner downtown.

By 7pm, we dressed to our best and headed to Cafe Cafe, a romantic french fine-dining restaurant located along Jalan Maharajalela (next to Dewan Bahasa & Pustaka). This restaurant has won many awards and is popular with its small but cozy, dimly lit set up and its glorious food. I must say, they got it absolutely right! It is beautiful.

Cafe Cafe, KL

First course: Pan seared Foie Gras
Love it! Its really really good!

2nd course: Clams with wine
Very generous with the amount of clams given.

Main course: Racks of lamb
Lamb cooked to its perfection. Absolutely delicious!

Dessert: Original chocolate cake (one of their signature dessert)
As you cut it down in the middle of the cake, hot and creamy chocolate oozes out from within. Gorgeous!

Thank you hubby for taking me to this beautiful restaurant! I'm very happy!
30 is indeed the new 20. I feel fresh and young and womanly sexy!

The Eve of 30

Time check: 3AM. Location: Kuala Lumpur. It is still 28th May in England as I blog on the past and I am secretly hoping my favourite football team would win on this very day. Champions League Final between Barcelona and Man Utd! Can the Red Devils win in their so-call home turf - The Wembley stadium?

Turning to the big 3 has been great so far. Though it seems just like any other ordinary day,  but thanks to my friends and colleagues, they had made the difference. Now, what did I do on the eve of my birthday? Time to recall from my almost recovered hang-over physique...

Celebrated my birthday in the office with a nicely written birthday card - "Mummy Cindy" - (very meaningful messages inside, so thank you everybody!) and a beautifully wrapped birthday pressie from my colleagues!

They asked me what I want for my birthday, and I said, "I don't know what I want! Maybe toys?" Cuz I don't really think of myself anymore and all I can think of is my son, my beautiful baby Hayden. So my birthday present is a present for my son! :D Thanks for buying this perfect gift for me! I love it!

Night time, night out with my friends. First at La Bodega: Margarita, Long Island, and the traditional must-have-drink-that-makes-you-drunk drink, Flaming Lamborghini! Then at WIP: A bottle of Bombay Saphire! What a total knock out!

My favourite tiramisu presented to me when the clock striked 12! OMG! I AM 30!

From Dome, to La Bodega and finally to WIP, thank you SGs for spending this beautiful night with me. We rocked BSC through and through! Friends forever!

2 more days....to 24th July 2010

Reality is starting to sink in. 2 more days to go and I will have a new place to call home.

My hubby and I are rather fortunate to have both side of our parents assisting us. From overseeing the renovation and moving in of furnitures, to cooking essentials and last minute household repairs. The Bruneians and the Cherasians met up again today at our new home and had a pre-openning moving in party with a basket of durians! It is supposed to be our (my hubby and I) joy of moving-in, but it turned out that our parents are more excited than we are! How cool is that?! Its good to see the four of them together this afternoon again as the last time they had a get-together with a basket of durian was at my parents house discussing about Tim and my wedding and that was in...wait....end of 2008!

There are still alot more to be done to beautify the new place but I guess all these can wait after I deliver. No more mama's little girl from this Saturday onwards. I will be the queen of the house!

Note: "Queen" is an overstatement. I think I'll be more of a domestic slave ... cooking, cleaning, washing, ironing... thank goodness I only need to do all these for 3 months before our maid arrives!

Did I mention we applied for Astro? Can you believe that Astro's installation can only be done in 4 - 5 weeks time from the day we applied for it??! How ridiculous! But that was what I was told by the customer service rep over the phone yesterday. We've heard so many complaints about them, especially on the Astro Byond's installation recently, I hope I won't suffer the same fate! If I do, I'll make sure everyone hears of it!

Lets see how everything goes. I hope Astro would give me a pleasant experience as a NEW subscriber...

P/S - Happy birthday to my mummy! Remembered it this morning, forgotten it this afternoon, remembered it again this evening. Sorry mummy! But I'm glad to be the first to sing you early this morning! =D

Eve of Turning a Year 'Younger'

Its 18:11 now and in another 6 hours time, yours truly will be turning a year younger. Its great to be able to celebrate my birthday in another country especially when the weather is between 7 to 18 degrees celcius!

As Im typing here, with a cup of hot green tea next to me, I'm having a slight backache. Must be due to too much walking and too much shopping I suppose haha!

We have been doing alot of walking, window shopping, eating, eating and lots of eating. Today, on the eve of my birthday, my MIL and I travelled to Fremantle to savour the great delicacies from the sea. We had a really awesome lunch at Cicerello's by the harbour front. Despite the occasional showers, we dined in and after lunch we took a drive to Market Street for some window shopping.

At Market Street there is this cafe called Chocolate San Churro - a Spanish inspired cafe (I think... from the setting, posters and the name itself) where they sell long twisting potato breadstick (they call it "Churros") and you eat it by dipping it in either dark chocolate/ white chocolate sauce. Its soooo delicious!! It actually taste like our local yaw char kueh, only that its skinnier and less oily. If only they open a franchise outlet in KL!

Before heading home, we stopped by at Coles (something like our Cold Storage) for some grocerry shopping. Did I tell you my MIL is an awesome cook? We had a great time travelling around with the aid of our Garmin GPS. Another girl's day-out tomorrow again and this time we will be heading to Northbridge!

Till then... gonna wait for my hubby to call me from Newcastle. Lets see if he remembers what day is tomorrow. If he doesn't.... he's gonna get some real spanking from me when he gets back!

Below are some pictures for your viewing pleasure =)

We had this little pager thing given to us whilst we wait for our order to be ready. When the food is ready, the pager will vibrate and lights will flash around it - this is a sign where they tell you to go and collect your food at the counter! How fascinating!

p/s- I didnt bring my camera cable, hence I had to rely on the pictures that are available on the net for the time being until I can replace it with my own when I return home!

20 March 2010

Just Chillin`

Its 9.34am. Saturday. 20th March 2010.

Happy birthday Ee Ling! My dear friend of 20 years is celebrating her youthful birthday today and I wish her well and many more to come!

Guess I'm trying to figure out what else to blog as I'm sitting in this nice cozy bedroom at the Gardens Hotel all by myself as my hubby has left for work and will only be back in 4 hours time.

Tim will be flying to India for a week on a business trip and I will be stuck alone, entertaining myself with Idols, Idols, and more Idol show. I've missed a week of the Idol performances (my office work has been hectic of late + the fact that we've been recuperating our energy in this hotel for the past 2 days) and I am indeed looking forward to head home later this afternoon.

Have you watched Alice in Wonderland ? Johnny Depp is pretty good. Anne Hathaway's make-up was horrendous (her lipstick colour made her lips looked 10x swollen), Mia Wasikowska - never seen her before - was just ok, nothing fantastic. The rest of the casts looked colourful. The only thing that kept me excited about watching the whole movie was Alice's wardrobe style. Her on screen dresses/ outfit were absolutely stunning! Overall...I'll give this movie a 6 out of 10. I was expecting to watch a remake of the original Alice in Wonderland storyline (as per the story book) but it wasn't. Its a story about Alice who grew up and revisited the Wonderland again (she totally forgotten that she been there before when she was younger)...

Go watch it and tell me what you think of it. Some say its boring. I'd say, its just all right.

This outfit transformed when she was in a giant size
and transformed again when she shrunk into a miniature ant size

Party at KL Hilton

Its Partayyyy Time!!!!

Vishnu is back in town for a week after spending 4 months in Philippines. We had an awesome birthday celebration for him at KL Hilton last night and for the first time, after soooo many months of avoiding, I had my 1 full slice of Chocolate Indulgence! As if I have not ballooned enough, they tried to stuff me with more of the sinful delicacy. Pheww! Below are some pictures taken for our memorabilia...

By the way, did I mention KL Hilton's room is soooo bloody beautiful??!

The room is packed with us monkeys

I'm a bathroom-lover. This marble tub has jacuzzi function!

Ok...so it was a little candid. Awkward posing here pardon me ;)

As I forgotten to bring my not-so-funky-but-durable Sony Camera, I've to resort to using my mobile phone for the pix. Here are some of the KL Hilton pics taken from the reliable Google Images site.

From the room u can slide open the whole bathroom door
to make it look modern & spacious

Night Out

We are crazy. We are IRRESISTIBLY insane.

Gin, Fung (aka cipet), Vivian (aka ah low), Lorraine (aka yoyee) and myself are self-proclaimed SGs. How the SG nickname came about is for us to know and for the others to wonder as it revolves our darkest secret, hidden beyond human understanding ... so anyway, when it comes to parties, there is only ONE rule. We must DRINK, get seductively crazy, get insane and LOUD.. (that makes more than 1 rule doesn't it??)

Anyway, last Saturday, we celebrated Gin's XX birthday (age is such a sensitive number) at Jung Won, a korean restaurant situated at Jln Ampang. Amongst all the restaurants that I have stepped foot in, I must admit, Jung Won is absolutely B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L! The food is on the other hand just ok, not as good as the other korean restaurants that we frequented in Sri Hartamas. However, despite the lavish landscape the price is about the same as any other local korean chophouse. I would give a 7/10 for this place (mostly earned from its alluring landscape)...

Wheel of water (this is the main part of the landscape)

Fung & yours truly..we can't resist a little cam whoring whilst waiting for our food

We were deciding at what to order...in the end we ordered EVERYTHING!

Vivian listened intently at whatever Yee was saying

Dinner ended around 9 ish close to 10pm, we then head on to the next location to begin our trademark "bottomsup" session (every glass we hold on to, must be drained ALLLL the way to the bottom). We were invited to a humongous mansion belonged to one of our dear SG's boyfriend - Matt in Kajang. The house is soooo huge and the garden is sooo big that we can even play a small footsal match or roll all over the grass for some intimate bollywood scene (Gin..lucky you.. if you know what we mean)...

These made us T.H.I.R.S.T.Y!!

We posed in the middle of the heart-shaped candle display
(originally placed by Matt himself for Gin on her actual birthday
Sept 16 `09)!

Happy Birthday Gin! A wonderful night ends with a wonderful smile :D

September Baby

Last night we had an awesome birthday celebration for Tim. Instead of the usual candle-light one-on-one dinner together (that is sooo last year), we invited a couple of his mates from Australia (Adam & Jeremy) to hang out with us in Bangsar. We had some booze (me so not into beer as usual, opt for my usual glass of house white) and we played a few friendly double pool matches. Guess who were the winners? Adam Bailey + Cindy Wong! Whoo hooo! Awesome partnership the both of us made! Tim and Jeremy looked at us scornfully after their defeat :D
Of course every birthday there must be a traditional birthday cake to commemorate the occasion right? I "surprised" Tim with a Baskin Robbin delicious Choc-Mint chip (his favourite) ice cream cake (p/s - Tim and I bought the cake together so its not realllly a surprise-lah) but still...it's the thought that counts right? :x

The inside of the cake looks like this...taste even better too!

The night ended with the four of us half tipsy...but still controllable. Oh well, we'd drink all night long had it not been a working day tomorrow....

Happy Birthday darling...I love you!
