Blood Charity

Have you ever donated your blood before? It is a good thing to do, knowing that you might be able to save one's life! However, there are some people with strong religious beliefs that they cannot part with their blood nor accept blood of another.
Yesterday, for the second time in my life, I donated my blood to the Blood Bank at SJMC (the first was at KK, Sabah) as my dear colleague's father is currently treated in the ICU ... at life-threatening stage. Sad, as it sound, I sincerely pray and hope that her father will get better and life will return to norm for the whole family.

First, I was asked to weight myself (darn.. I feel so fat!), then the vampire nursey pricked my finger to get some blood out (ok, so its Type A). About 5 minutes later, after filling up the form, my name was called. Time to suck my blood out! The vampire nursey spoke to me with excitement, "you get to choose which bed you want! :D " Wow! Really??? (I almost rolled my eyes). All the beds looked the same to me...in the end I chose the one closest to the tv.

Then, the scary moment began. I thought I would be cool about it, having done it before in KK. But when I saw the needle, I wanted to run. I kept telling myself, "its all right..just a prickly feeling...its all right". So I tried to make conversation with the nurse to keep it light & easy.

Me: So...I heard we get fat after donating our blood....
Nurse: (smiling)..ok so this is a ubat bius (anaesthetic drug) - (whilst jabbing me)
Me: Huh? Ouch! For what?
Nurse: Cuz the next needle is really big so, we dont want you to feel the pain
Me: HARR???! You mean there are 2 needles???! (last time in KK, I don't quite remember being jabbed twice!..did I? Could it be that I went into a shock that now I cannot remember anything?)

When I saw the big a** needle with a transparent bag attached to it, I almost died.

(In KK, in 2005, I donated - 250ml. Here, in SJMC, they sucked me for 450ml! If only Edward Cullen was next to me, I don't mind donating 1000ml!...)

It looks exactly the same as the day my blood got sucked out - voluntarily of course. I felt a little woozy after that, but its all good. I'm glad I did this. Afterall, I have lots of blood to spare!

Wedding Folklores

9.57am. In a couple of hours time I will be heading to Malacca, the historical city of Malaysia to attend my colleague's wedding at Mahkota Hotel. This marks as the first wedding amongst 10 others whom are scheduled in my November / December calendar. (I really wonder why many couples choose to hold their weddings end of the year? I ask myself that same question too .... I guess its easier to plan for a wedding when it is end of the year?)

How many traditional Chinese folklores have you heard of? Well, there is one with regards to weddings. It is believed that the bride-to-be / groom should not attend other couple's wedding that are held within the same month as hers/ his. Some believe, for relatives or siblings - it has to be 4 months apart...instead of the usual one. What's the consequences? It will affect either couple's happiness in the future...or so it seems...

To believe or not to believe? Hmmm.... Honestly, I dont know....

I am definitely disappointed as I have 5 close friends (and cousin)'s wedding that I have to miss....and vice versa.

Fengshui

How much do you believe in fengshui? Well, its not surprising if you ask 9 out of 10 Chinese families, each of them would have their own fengshui master to rely on....and I certainly believe so.

My daddy-in-law is in town once again (though Tim and I just got back from Brunei last Sunday) to meet up with his long serving family fengshui master. Its really good to have her around as we took her to Tim's office and to our 'new house' (Yepppp! We bought a new house!) Having a fengshui master around definitely gives us a peace of mind and besides, there's nothing to loose to have one around isn't it? (Apart from the whopping $$$ that is being charged for the service).

Its all good now and we are in seventh heaven. I can't wait for all to be completed and to have a new place that we both can call it "our home sweet home". EDM (estimated date of moving in) would be sometime 3rd quarter of next year...just can't wait! Goodbye Cheras and helloooo B.NGS.R!

Greetings from Brunei!

Hello from Brunei!

We arrived here in Bandar Seri Begawan last night and its a wonderful feeling to be back in this peaceful country, away from the hustle and bustle of KL.

Today, we met up with the wedding favour's vendor (choosing our wedding favour gifts for our Brunei wedding) and met up with our Event Organizer, Edgar - to go through the plans for our wedding come this December 13th. Time passes reallll fast ...the sun is setting ...(6.46pm it says here). It felt as if I just woke up an hour ago...

Time to go for dinner now. We are leaving tomorrow back to KL and till then, will blog more on the latest "news" (hint: it has something to do with a "dwelling place").

Tootlelooo!

My Hen's Night

Before I get my hands on the photos for last night, let me narrate the highlights of my Hen's party, which marks the most unforgettable night ever for my 28 years of my life.

Location: SD's house, Puchong
Date: 10.10.09
Time: 8am (Malaysian time culture - 9.15pm)

Arrival: We were asked to do a cat walk show before being allowed into the house
Dinner: Fat noodles, thin noodles, fry rye,  kfc, sandwiches, sausages, watermellon!
Games: Our signature game: Pyramid!

Interval time: We were asked to sit on the sofa as they played a slideshow video on the LCD tv = the clips of us brides before when we were still "single", our holiday clips,, our engagement party photos with our hubby to the photos of our marriage registration...it was sooo touchingly sweet! It made me shed tears....

Midnight: A surprise visit of a MALE STRIPPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He came wearing one realllly HOTTT shorts, a black leather vest, and he danced and stripped till to his RED underwear! LOL! Me who was half wasted became sober immediately after hearing screams and hysterical laughter from my girl friends and that was when I realized this Male Stripper was dancing with his butt close to my face. I took the opportunity to squeeze his buttock... Mmm..juicyyyy! Thank God I didnt miss any of it!

What a fantastic night. The girls gave me a present with a photo frame of us 5 girls together. A memorabilia of friendship and love. I absolutely love it! A wonderful night with wonderful friends :D I wish I can have this night every year....NOT! :p

Homecoming!

I thought of changing the outlook of my blog since I have a new outlook in life, career & future. What do you think?

Like what my boss-then-ex-boss-now-boss-again told me, "announcement will be made about my homecoming...", the word 'homecoming' brings smile to my eyes. Its my gratitude to be asked for a return and how glad that I am...

Party at KL Hilton

Its Partayyyy Time!!!!

Vishnu is back in town for a week after spending 4 months in Philippines. We had an awesome birthday celebration for him at KL Hilton last night and for the first time, after soooo many months of avoiding, I had my 1 full slice of Chocolate Indulgence! As if I have not ballooned enough, they tried to stuff me with more of the sinful delicacy. Pheww! Below are some pictures taken for our memorabilia...

By the way, did I mention KL Hilton's room is soooo bloody beautiful??!

The room is packed with us monkeys

I'm a bathroom-lover. This marble tub has jacuzzi function!

Ok...so it was a little candid. Awkward posing here pardon me ;)

As I forgotten to bring my not-so-funky-but-durable Sony Camera, I've to resort to using my mobile phone for the pix. Here are some of the KL Hilton pics taken from the reliable Google Images site.

From the room u can slide open the whole bathroom door
to make it look modern & spacious

Very comfortable....the bed....

O` Happy Day!

Ok, so what's the good news?

I have finally achieved my status as a "professionally qualified lawyer" as I have just gotten my practice certificate. After months of hard work and determination, the world now is at my feet...(in my wildest imagination that is)

But ask me, do I want to practice? Well...I now know in the practice world, especially in Malaysia, mostly are overly rated. Whether I practice or not, I can decide for many years to come as my name & cert will now stand permanently in the record of the Bar Council. Hence, nothing can be done to take that away unless if I'm involved in a crime - now, we all know, how I am with being clean & righteous right?

Special mention to my baby Tim who gave me a chance to work in his office for short stint of time with a purpose to gain experience as an entrepreneur - its best I'll leave this work to him alone as he is pretty good at what he does. I'm just an "extra" : p Husband & wife need their own space too you know (tip for da day!)

Where will I be from here on? I'll leave it blank for now as later on I will return with an answer, once its alllll a done deal! Goodnight!

Wacky Night

Its 8.06am...on a Sunday. I asked myself why am I up so early in the morning...I should be having long hours of sleep on weekends, giving the fact that I wake up too darn early every other day. The first thing that came to my mind was "AA".

I attended a special charity theatre show called The Wacky Bar last night at PJ Life Arts, Jaya One. This star-studded show is directed by Joanna Bessey and revolves around a bar filled with eccentric characters. The cast includes Joanne Kam Poh Poh, Gavin Yap, Rashid Salleh, Elaine Pedley, Maya Tan Abdullah, Daphne Iking and Patrick Teoh as the bar owner. Amber Chia also made a special appearance as Lulu, a skinny pretty girl from mainland China. Their act and story lines were hillarious and so real! The story line includes a husband cheating his wife, girl meets a man but he doesn't call her back after 3 weeks, men and football, what women think of men & vice versa. Its a good production giving the fact that it is produced by Passionately YOU for the 1st time. Passionately YOU is a woman drive campaign dedicated to women's health and to celebrate all cervical and breast cancer vicitms and survivor's fighting spirit. The campaign organizers include Assunta Hospital, Jaya One, Asia Assistance (my ex-company) and PJLA...

Anyway, something lingered in my head the whole night, and tonight I'll be meeting my "ex" Chairman to get it all clear out. Good or bad I dont know yet. But I know, the outcome will determine my coming future ...

Here are some photos from last night...enjoy!
